I have a proformance vehicle that I brought in to have a pigtail harness to be replaced. I came in with 103,933 miles when I picked up my car had 103,946. I could see a couple miles but 13 miles is ridiculous. That's a joyride. I get 17 mpg on average when I picked up my car is was at 11 mpg. shows no respect for a person's property. I go and look at the work done and this is how they fixed the pigtail, what a joke my 15 yr old son could do a way better job.
Hi Scott, this is Darin Ode. I spoke with you personally before you brought your 2019 Kia Stinger in, and I also called you after seeing your review in hopes of discussing your concerns directly, but unfortunately, I have not heard back. I do want to clarify something important for anyone reading your review. Your vehicle was brought to us for a drivability diagnosis—not simply to “replace a pigtail.” Your documented complaint was that the SES light was on, the vehicle would not accelerate properly, and the turbo would spool but only produce approximately 3 PSI of boost. For drivability concerns like this, our standard diagnostic procedure includes a road test under both city and highway conditions. Our normal route is approximately 7 miles and allows our technician to duplicate the customer's concern while monitoring live vehicle data under different speeds, loads, and RPMs. (For context, our standard test drive is to 696, then to Hoover, then back) After diagnosing the fault, we ordered the required electrical connector directly from Kia, repaired the vehicle, cleared the appropriate faults/history, and then performed a second road test to verify that the repair had corrected the low-boost and acceleration problem and that the issue did not return. That means approximately 13–14 miles of total road testing is completely consistent with our diagnostic and post-repair verification procedures. To be very clear: No one at Ode Auto Repair was joyriding in your vehicle. The mileage accumulated was for the purpose of properly diagnosing your complaint and confirming that the repair we performed had corrected it before returning your vehicle to you. We take accusations regarding the integrity of our employees very seriously. We stand behind our technician, our diagnostic procedures, and the repair performed on your vehicle. Myself or Armando would still welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly and resolve your concerns. Our goal is always to repair our customers' vehicles correctly and earn their trust, and my invitation to discuss this with you remains open.
